The Cutting Garden Diary – May
May is when the garden truly comes into its own. The early flowers are still blooming, and the late spring perennials are starting to join in . Alliums, foxgloves, and peonies are the stars of the show this month, their tall, elegant forms adding height and drama to the garden.
The beds are filling up fast, with more blooms every day. I’ve been busy harvesting for weddings, creating lush, natural arrangements full of peonies, tulips, and trailing vines. There’s something so romantic about May flowers – they’re soft, fragrant, and full of life.
The garden is alive with activity. Bees are buzzing, and the air is filled with the scent of roses, which are just beginning to open. I’m spending most of my days in the garden now, tending to the beds and making sure everything is growing as it should.
If you’re planning a wedding this summer, May is the month to finalize your floral vision. My floristry style focuses on creating designs that feel like an extension of the natural landscape – whether it’s a soft, pastel palette or something more vibrant and bold, my goal is always to craft florals that are as unique as your love story.
The time spent in the garden is full of joy. The long days and warm sun bring everything to life, and it’s a reminder of why I love this time of year so much.
Until next month,
