The Cutting Garden Diary – June
June in the Lake District feels like the garden at its peak. The roses are in full bloom now, their soft, romantic petals spilling over the edges of the beds, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. Peonies, foxgloves, and delphiniums are adding height and texture, while the first dahlias are starting to make their appearance.
The garden is full of color, and I’m in the thick of wedding season. Every day brings new blooms to gather, new bouquets to create. I’ve been working with lots of loose, flowing arrangements this month, letting the garden’s abundance guide my designs. There’s something truly magical about June flowers – they bring a sense of effortless romance and natural beauty that perfectly complements any wedding in the Lake District.
If you’re planning a summer wedding, now is the time to think about how your flowers will tell the story of your day. My focus is on creating bespoke designs that reflect both the season and your personal style, so that each arrangement feels like a natural extension of your wedding day.
The long days mean more time in the garden, and I’ve been savoring every moment. Whether I’m cutting roses in the early morning light or winding down in the evening with a cup of tea, the garden feels like a little slice of magic right now. The season is in full swing, and I couldn’t be happier.
Until next month,
